Backcountry Babes

Inspiring connection through outdoor adventures.

Backcountry Babes is dedicated to creating inspiring retreats for your body, mind and spirit.  As  pioneers of women specific backcountry education, we continually strive to develop high quality workshops that not only provide a valuable educational resource, but empower and inspire us in all aspects of our lives. Babes is committed to educating women in a fun, safe and supportive and environment.

Body ~ Mind ~ Spirit:

It is our goal to shift how we as humans recreate in the outdoors through bringing awareness to one’s body, of not only ourselves, but of the environment in which we play.  Through heightening our awareness/senses and developing a sense of place,we have the potential to expand and enrich all of our experiences from walking down the street to backcountry skiing or riding a bike.

Knowledge is Power:

Babes’ programs address the intimidating factors related to adventure sports and backcountry travel by providing tools and skills to help build confidence. Workshops and trips provide a forum for women to strengthen and enhance their decision-making skills and create an opportunity for women to become less reliant on others and more responsible for themselves.

Why Women Specific?

We have chosen to focus on women’s specific programming to celebrate women exploring their passions.   The Babes’ workshops help to create a balance in the outdoor community by encouraging more women to become involved in backcountry pursuits.  Stepping outside the traditional mixed gender environment, women of all ages have an opportunity to explore themselves in a place void of competition.  When women gather, amazing connections occur.  These are spaces/containers where women are able to reinvent themselves, reconnect with the strength and power within, and rejuvenate at a core level.  Women only gatherings allow women to gain a deeper respect for other women of different backgrounds, ages and interests. Through this coming together, we gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be all “one”- all “connected”.
